The annual Totnes Show is a one day event featuring animals (horses, cows, sheep, goats etc being judged for prizes), agricultural equipment (including the latest Lamborghini tractors) and such like. I couldn't get any closer to the show than these - power lines and the cars got in the way. The photo was taken on July 29th 2004 (using rig 2 with a 5 Megapixel Ixus).
Bideford straddles the river Torridge in North Devon. This is a view looking down the river (towards the sea). The photo was taken on July 26th 2004 (using rig 2 with a 5 Megapixel Ixus).

Tucked neatly into the patio of this house above Meadfoot Beach at Torquay is this large boat. Most of the houses in the picture are actually hotels. The photo was taken on August 22nd 2004 (using rig 2 with a 5 Megapixel Ixus).
The top bungalow on the left of this picture taken at Daddyhole Plain high above the sea at Torquay shows signs of being massively extended from its original modest dimensions. The photo was taken on August 22nd 2004 (using rig 2 with a 5 Megapixel Ixus).

These lichen-covered roofs are at Torcross - at the Southern end of Slapton Sands. The photo was taken in September 2004 (using rig 2 with a 5 Megapixel Ixus).
The Start Bay Inn, right on the beach at Torcross, is about the best place to get fish and chips in the South Hams. The fish is freshly caught locally and the batter almost like tempura. Note the thatched roof. The photo was taken in September 2004 (using rig 2 with a 5 Megapixel Ixus).

Smeaton's Tower on Plymouth Hoe. Built in 1789, on Eddystone (26 miles off-shore), this light house was moved to Plymouth Hoe in 1884. This view is looking roughly north (away from the sea). There are some more pictures of this lighthouse on the monuments page. The photo was taken in late September 2004 (using rig 2 with a 5 Megapixel Ixus).
The Great Hall at Dartington. Beyond it lies the tiltyard (with the stepped grass slope). At the extreme top left you can just see the River Dart. The isolated tower is all that remains of an ancient chapel. The photo was taken in Janary 2005 (using rig 2 with a 5 Megapixel Ixus).

The entrance to Dartington's quadrangle. The gate house is at the centre and the long building on the left is Barn (mainly used as an Arts Cinema). The photo was taken in Janary 2005 (using rig 2 with a 5 Megapixel Ixus).
Looking roughly south east, this shot taken from Richmond Green in West London shows how densely packed Richmond is. In the foreground the houses fronting the Green are now mainly used as offices (most Richmond law firms are here). Behind them are the backs of shops and stores along George Street. Beyond them, the line of red brick buildings towards the top are the shops of Red Lion Street (with the bulky Odeon Cinemas at the top). Beyond Red Lion Street are the houses on the lower slopes of Richmond Hill (including our old house, pointed to by the arrow).

The photo was taken in February 2005 (using rig 2 with a 5 Megapixel Ixus).

Another view from Richmond Green, looking south east. The spire at top right is Saint Matthias at the top of Richmond Hill (the photo has flattened the geography considerably - the hill is quite high). Note the trees growing up out of small courtyard gardens in the foreground. These gardens are completely hidden from public view (until I looked at this photo I never knew they existed - and I lived in Richmond for 13 years).

The photo was taken in February 2005 (using rig 2 with a 5 Megapixel Ixus).

The church, manor house and tithe barn (at centre right) of Berry Pomeroy, a small village a few miles north-east of Totnes.

This photo was taken on April 17th on the first outing of Rig 3 with its 5 Megapixel Optio S5i.
